Children’s Ministry Happenings for Week Ending May 6, 2018

Spring is upon us and with it the chance for dicey weather. We are planning to visit our friends at Homestead tomorrow for FirstKids Serve at 5; however, we are not going to risk safety to do so! Therefore, please check your e-mail before our programs start at 4 p.m. to make sure we are still meeting. Also, please use personal discretion when the time comes!

Tribe 1 (4th-6th)

We have a couple more weeks of Questions about faith. This week, we’ll take a look at the question, “what did Jesus look like?” so THAT will be interesting! For serve time, the plan is to visit our friends at Homestead assisted living, but see above for the weather disclaimer.

  • We have a small group on Sunday morning working on a skit for May 20, and of course we continue our ukulele practice!
  • June 10 & 11 is our Human Sexuality course; the 10th will involve kids and parents and the 11th just kids. Please let me know if you’re interested.
  • July 16-20 is Vacation Bible School
  • July 30-Aug 3 is Camp

Tribe 2 (K-3rd)

Our plan is to deliver May Day baskets to Homestead for Serve time tomorrow, but that is contingent upon weather!  We will also sing He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands complete with ukulele accompaniment.

On Sunday mornings, we’ve been learning about teachers in the early church, and this week we will learn about Lydia. Ms. Sue is also going to start working with us on a song to perform on May 20, so that will be a welcome addition to our Sunday morning routine!

July 16-20 is Vacation Bible School, and this year’s theme is World Tour. Let me know if you’re interested in helping! Day camp is available on July 2/3, and we’re doing a week long camp on July 30-Aug. 3.

Nursery

Our young kids wrapped up a month of learning about Easter, and will start learning about the church’s Birthday (Pentecost) this week. Please remember to check in and grab a buzzer if you have kids in the nursery!

Hope you have a great week!

Blessings,
