Here’s what we have going on for kids’ stuff.
Tribe 1 (4th-6th)
In light of spring break, we will not be having our Wednesday programs today. Next week, we will do a Peter’s Walk, an activity designed to help kids experience the events of Holy Week. It’s a fun and highly meaningful activity! If any parents are available to help, please let me know.
Sunday is Palm Sunday so kids can process with palm branches around the sanctuary if they want to. Please have them check in and grab a palm in the nursery classroom (east side, not the largest room). This will be during the first song. Also, no Uke practice on Sunday at 10, though we will go through He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands with the younger kids at 11. In fact, Ukes will take off the next couple of weeks (Palm Sunday & Easter).
Tribe 2 (K-3rd)
No FirstKids today! Next week, we’ll be doing Peter’s Walk, where the kids get to experience some of what Holy Week was like. It’s a fun and meaningful way for them to understand what it might have been like to be one of Jesus’s friends. Parents, please let me know if you can help with this event.
On Sunday, we’ll be learning the story of Palm Sunday. We’ll also do a processional at the beginning of the 11 service; have kids check into the nursery classroom (east room, not the biggest nursery space) to get their palm and their instructions! This age group will also perform a song on April 8, led by some of the older kids and their ukuleles.
Nursery
Our nursery kids made a banner that will be displayed on Palm Sunday, so make sure you compliment your kids on their work! This will be the last week for this group to learn about how the People Welcomed Jesus on Palm Sunday, and they will take part in the Palm Sunday processional at the 11:00 service, too. Just bring them to the nursery as you normally would, and our teachers will take it from there.
