Children’s Ministry Happenings for Week Ending April 22, 2018

Here is what we having going on, let me know if you have questions! I will also be contacting individuals to meet up to discuss what programs are like for your kids and how we can best meet your family’s goals and schedule needs into the future.

Tribe 1 (4th – 6th)

Tonight we will continue our discussion of gender and the Bible. This has led to some great conversation! During serve time, we’ll be making appreciation treats for some of our public safety personnel. We will also finalize plans for a fundraising event to help support the kids who are going to camp; I’ll let families know if there will be an opportunity to donate supplies, etc.

Our Sunday morning time continues to be ukulele practice with Karla and writing and rehearsing a skit the kids have been working on.
I’m looking at another option for scheduling the Created by God class (human sexuality) for girls. Please let me know if the evening of June 10 (Sunday) would be possible for you? Parents and kids would eat a meal together (6 p.m.?), then parents would go to their session while the kids went to a different one. We’d have a lock in (for kids), and finish the sessions on the 11th (kids only). We would deliver kids home, or wherever they need to be.

A reminder to register for camp, if you haven’t done so already. This age group is planning to go the week of July 30; prices go up May 1!

Tribe 2 (K-3rd)

For our serve time tonight, we will be making cards and treats for some of our public safety personnel to say thank you for keeping us safe! We will also finalize plans for a fundraiser to help defray the cost of camps for families this summer.

For camp, we will be taking some kids on a weeklong camp on July 30 – Aug. 2. Our 3rd graders would be eligible for this. In addition, there is an overnight camp on July 2/3 that both our younger ages and older ages could attend. Check out camp here and register by May 1 to get the discounted rates! Transportation will be provided for the July 30 and July 2 camps; if those dates don’t work for you, you would still be eligible for scholarships but would need to work out your own transportation.

On Sunday mornings, we are learning about the early church and how it grew. We are also learning how we can help our more modern churches grow! We’ve also been focusing on prayer during worship time.

Nursery

We are continuing to learn about the Resurrection and Easter. One phrase we’ll be repeating a lot this week is, “Jesus is not here!” referring to the empty tomb. It’s fun to see how excited our youngest kids get when they learn the true meaning of Easter; thank you for sharing them with us!

Blessings,
